Airports & Flights in Cyprus
Larnaca (also spelled “Larnaka”), located near the town of the same name, is the larger of the two and currently handles about 5.5 million passengers every year. Many air carriers, including Lufthansa, KLM, and Malev have regularly scheduled flights to this airport. Larnaca Airport can be easily reached by shuttle bus, taxi, or car from Nicosia or Limassol. It is currently under renovation, which is expected to be completed by the last quarter of 2009.
Paphos (sometimes spelled “Pafos”), which is also named after a nearby town, is on the southwest side of Cyprus and services a number of smaller air carriers, such as Air Berlin, easyJet, and Bulgarian Air. Paphos was recently under construction, and its remodeled terminal opened in November 2008.
Both airports offer money exchange, ATMs, rental car agencies, a parking area, an information desk, assistance for persons with disabilities, and duty free shops.
